I’m out of my “country scene” comfort zone on this painting, but boy, did I enjoy it!! And it was basically sitting right under my nose. I pass by the antique loon-looking wooden decoy probably every day in our home. But for some reason, it caught my eye a few days ago. As you can see, the setting is very simple. For me, the hot spot (hard lighting) and shadows are probably my favorite parts of this painting-shadows cast from the decoy onto the wall behind it and also the shadows cast from the shelf bracket. I need to do more of these. Did I say that I really enjoyed doing this painting?!

The approximate framed out size of this watercolor is 18 1/4” x 20”.
