This was a very beautiful lighthouse that we visited on our New England trip in October ‘22. This is the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse in Bristol, Maine. Commissioned by John Quincy Adams in 1827, the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse has a Fisherman’s museum on the first floor in the Keeper’s House. No matter what angle or direction from which one is viewing the complex, every angle is just stunning. I liked this particular view, (looking from the ocean), because the tree seemed to “frame in” the lighthouse. I used my artistic license to change the season, since we’re in the winter months now. And speaking of the tree, my phone/camera didn’t get a real clear image of it, and the small leaves in the reference photo looked as though it could be a holly tree, so once again, I used my artistic license to make it just that.

The approximate size of this watercolor is 18” x 22”.
