This is another setting in beautiful Southwest Virginia, Nickelsville! A few weeks ago, on our way to Linda’s Mom’s family reunion, the little country road traveled alongside this creek called Grassy Creek. We had a greeting party of about 3 (cows), but this one was the only one I could fit nicely into my composition. He’s looking directly at us, either welcoming us to his home or asking us why we’re here. The rocky hillside is also another indication of SW VA. I used my artistic license to change the newly turned, pressure treated fence posts into old fence posts. Their many years of character demonstrated on the surfaces are much more interesting.

The approximate framed out size of this watercolor is 17” x 18 1/4”.
